At what time between 1 A.M and 2 A.M will both hands of a clock point in opposite directions ?

The correct answer is: 1 hour 38 38 fraction numerator 2 over denominator 11 end fraction


    To find time between 1 A.M and 2 A.M when both hands of a clock point in opposite directions.

    The difference between the hands when they are in opposite direction is 30 min.

    So the minute hand has to gain (5+30) min. which it can do in  38 fraction numerator 2 over denominator 11 end fraction minutes.

    The time is 38 fraction numerator 2 over denominator 11 end fraction minutes past 1 o'clock when the both hands are in opposite direction.
