Question

# One of the two ideal gases has a molar volume double the second one at the same temperature, Calculate the ration of their pressure.

- 4:1
- 2:1
- 1:2
- 3:5

## The correct answer is: 1:2

### Using the ideal gas equation,

PV = nRT

Here, Va : Vb = 2 : 1 and Temperature is constant.

From the ideal gas equation, P ∝ 1/V. Therefore we have,

Pa : Pb = Vb : Va

Pa : Pb = 2 : 1
