Since Kevin’s mother divided an apple into 4 equal parts,
the denominator of the fractions will be 4.
The parts which Kevin and his brother got are the numerators.

The correct answer is: $3 over 4$

Part of apple Kevin got = $2 over 4$
Part of apple Kevin's got = $1 fourth$
Total quantity of apple they both got $equals 2 over 4 plus 1 fourth equals 3 over 4$
