Question
PQR is a triangle in which PQ=PR.S is any point on the side PQ. Through S, a line is drawn parallel to QR intersecting PR at T. Prove that PS = PT.
Hint:
As we know angles opposite to Equal sides in a triangle are equal .
And the corresponding angles formed by two parallel and 1 intersecting line are equal.
Using these conditions we get the proof
The correct answer is: Hence proved
Aim :- Prove PS = PT
triangle are equal )—- Eq1
As ST || QR and SQ intersects then,
∠PQR = ∠PST (corresponding angles ) —- Eq2
As ST || QR and TR intersects then
∠PRQ = ∠PTS (corresponding angles )—- Eq3
Substitute Eq2 ,Eq3 in Eq1
We get ∠PST = ∠PTS
Then , PS = PT (sides opposite to equal angles in a triangle are equal)
Hence proved
