In the figure, if and find x and y.
Hint:
We find the value of x by using the sum of angles in triangle QTR is 180°.
The correct answer is: Therefore values of x and y are 50° and 80° respectively
Find the y = ∠PSQ as the exterior angle and interior angles are ∠SPR (given) and x.
Ans:- x =50° and y = 80°
Explanation:-
Step 1:-Find value of x
In ΔQTR, ∠T + ∠TQR + x = 180° (sum of angles in triangles)
90°+40° + x =180 °
x = 180-130
∴x = 50°
Step 2:- Find value of y
We know that in a triangle, the exterior angle is always equal to the sum of the interior opposite angles.
∠PRQ +∠SPR = ∠PSQ
x + 30° = y (x = 50°)
y =50° +30°
∴y =80°
Therefore values of x and y are 50° and 80° respectively
