Question
Solve 7x − 10 = 4x + 8. Write a reason for each step.
Hint:
using the additive property and subtraction property ,division property on both sides .solve for x.
The correct answer is: x = 6
Ans:- x = 6
Given , 7x − 10 = 4x + 8.
Adding 10 on both sides by additive property of equality both sides remain equal.
7x–10 + 10 = 4x + 8 + 10
7x = 4x + 18
Subtract 4x from both sides by subtraction property of equality both sides remains equal.
7x - 4x = 4x + 18 - 4x
3x = 18
Dividing 3 by division property of equality both sides remains equal.
∴x = 6
