A Solid is in the form of a cylinder with hemispherical ends. The total height of solid is 19 cm and the diameter of the cylinder is 7 cm , Find the volume of the solid ?

    The volume of the solid is sum of volume of cylinder and volume of hemisphere.
    Let be the radius of cylinder and be the height of the cylinder. Then,

    r equals 7 over 2 cm

    = 3.5cm

    And

    h = 19 - 2 cross times 3.5

    =12cm
    Also, Radius of hemisphere will be 7 over 2 space c m space equals space 3.5 c m
    Now,
    The volume of the solid is sum of volume of cylinder and volume of hemisphere

    equals pi r squared h plus 2 over 3 pi r cubed

    equals pi 3.5 squared cross times 12 plus 2 over 3 pi 3.5 cubed

    equals 641.66 cm cubed
    Therefore the volume of the solid will be 641.66cm3.
