Question
The traversers are adding a new room to their house. The room will be a cube with a volume of 6589 cubic feet .They are going to put in hardwood floors , which costs Rs 10 per square foot . How much will the hardwood floors cost ?
Hint:
Find the area of the room in square feets and then calculate the cost
The correct answer is: 3610 Rs
Complete step by step solution:
Volume of the cube shaped room = 6589 cubic feet…(i)
Let the side of room = x
We know that the formula for volume of a cube = x3…(ii)
On equating both, we get x3 = 6589
Now take cube roots on both the sides, we have
Cost of hardwood floor for 1 square feet = Rs 10
Here we have 19 square feet,
∴ Cost of hardwood floor for 19 square feet = Rs
