Bard College – Admissions, Rankings And Acceptance Rates

Sep 13, 2022

As a private college serving the public interest, Bard College aspires to foster a willingness to learn, a love for it, ideological thinking, and a dedication to the relationship between higher education and civic engagement.

The distinctive curriculum at Bard combines rigour and flexibility in all of its first-year components, including Linguistics and Analytical Thinking, Social Science, and First-Year Seminar, as well as the Senior Project.

While participating in engaging academic programs, interacting with peers, and contributing to the larger community, students take responsibility for their education. Bard students actively participate in their academic and extracurricular activities, working in small groups with a faculty of international renown. Students can access New York City and our international Bard Network program network, including the opportunity to “Begin in Berlin.”

You’ll need a higher ACT score to make up for a GPA at or below the school average of 3.78 and demonstrate your readiness for college-level coursework. This will enable you to compete successfully against other applicants.

In addition, a large portion of the Bard College-Conservatory of Music faculty also teaches at important music schools along the East Coast, like Juilliard. Bard is arguably the best example of combining a top-notch liberal arts education with a fantastic music program.
