  • Writing an essay means communicating ideas, experiences, stories, problems, and solutions to people with simple words that are easy to understand.
  • An essay is a short piece of writing that can be formal or informal with a structure.
  • Formal essays portray serious purpose, dignity, local organization, and length.
  • The informal essay portrays personal elements such as self-revelation, individual tastes, experiences, and confidentiality.
  • An essay can be divided broadly under the following heads:
    • Introduction
    • Main body
    • Conclusion
  • The introduction is the most crucial paragraph in an essay because it sets out the thesis statement and gives the reader clear signposts for what they will be reading in the article.
  • Body paragraphs include a topic sentence, supporting details, and a conclusion.
  • A paragraph contains facts, statements, and examples-specifics, guiding us to completely understand the main idea. They clarify, illuminate, explain, describe, expand, and illustrate the main idea and supporting details.
  • Three essential concepts that help with writing body paragraphs are paragraph development, coherence, and unity.
  • Conclusion: The conclusion brings together all the main points of the essay.
